How do you deal with the times your boss is making a idiotic descision?

My boss was making a totally idiotic decision yesterday one that I knew we would all pay big time for later....I just let her do it but I sooo wanted to scream at her!How do you deal with the times your boss is making a idiotic descision?
You send a email to her letting her know that you understand the descison she has made and you will get the team right on it and copy her and another manager just so they are aware and it is recorded that it was her decision not yours

Before I can answer that, I need to know if the eventual problems were presented to her? A calm presentation of problems that would probably lead to more money spent down the line will get more attention in this economic climate than most people realise.

If they weren't, put together your concerns into a memo, focusing on the dollars, and ask for a private meeting with her. List your points quickly and succinctly and say that, if she wants more info, you'll be happy to put some more numbers together.

If your concerns were aired at the meeting, it may well be that the boss has been told something that caused her to go that way -- and that she's been told not to divulge certain things at this point.

If it's the future morale of your group that you see being imperiled, again, put your points down in a memo and meet with her so that you can discuss what to do to boost morale proactively -- rather than reactively.

Whether it's money or morale, you're not making her lose face in front of other people at the meeting.

If she asks you why you didn't bring up your points in the meeting, you can say that you thought it through after. At this point, it would be good to ask if she prefers the open discussions in meetings. Many managers are not comfortable with that, partly because they feel insecure; they are getting it from above and below and feel caught in the middle.
You do not question her decision unless you know you'll get something out of it for sure. Just relax, drink coffee, read a book.
My last boss was a complete idiot. Everything he did was totally stupid. I showed him by getting a better job in Cancun, Mexico. Woo Hoo!
no use crying over spilt milk. shoulhave warned her first.
