How much difference does smiling make when making friends?

And why does it make a difference?

I feel like when I smile, people are able to be around with me with ease and joke around me.How much difference does smiling make when making friends?
Well a smile is just universally known as something warm and affectionate. When someone smiles, their brains automatically go to that warm and comfortable feeling. Thus making people more comfortable and at ease around you.

Have you ever noticed that when someone is laughing, and the other one has no idea what that person is laughing about, starts laughing themselves?

A smile and happiness can be contagious, so in this case, stand close. How much difference does smiling make when making friends?
Hi, just be yourself. If you try to be someone you're not, people can see through this and won't want anything to do with you. So be yourself and the friends will come running. Chat to anyone and everyone, start by asking how their holidays were, then the conversation should follow on from their. You sound a nice person, so I don't think you've got anything to worry about. good luck!
